Northern Exposure is a personal favorite at our nursery; the lovely frosty blue leaves are substantial, growing to over 13 inches long with wide, celery-colored margins that fade to cream in the summer. A sport of Hosta sieboldiana 'Elegans', the leaves of Northern Exposure develop a thick, rippled texture as they mature.

How to Grow Hosta: Easy to grow shade loving perennial plants, Hostas thrive in well-drained organic rich soil that is moist but not overly wet. Slugs and snails can be controlled by applying Sluggo Plus in the spring around the base of the plant. Check the size and variety of the Hosta before planting in ensure that sun exposure and planting area accommodate the variety. In the spring remove dead foliage and fertilize with a slow release organic fertilizer.
