ECHINACEA 'TOMATO SOUP' hardy, perennial coneflower is simply stunning in the garden with delightful green foliage and rich, warm 5-inch, tomato-red blooms. A hardy, well-branched perennial garden plant, Echinacea Tomato Soup blooms frequently throughout the summer. Very hardy and deer resistant, this perennial coneflower is easy to grow and also makes a delightful addition to any garden including use as a cut flower. Tomato Soup Echinacea achieves a full height of up to 3 feet and can grow nearly as wide. It is an ideal plant selection for full-sun areas and Hardiness Zones 4 through 9. CULTURAL NOTES: Native to North America's open woodlands and prairies. Prefers well-drained, fertile soil. Can be divided but do it gently: Once established Coneflowers resent being moved. NOMENCLATURE NOTES: 'Echinacea' (Genus name from the Greek echinos: sea urchin or hedgehog, referring to the seed cone.) Grown and shipped in a 1 gallon nursery pot.
