Echinacea After Midnight PP18768, hardy coneflower wows in the garden with fragrant, deep-magenta flowers that bloom throughout the summer. The magenta flowers are delightfully accented by almost black cones. CULTURAL NOTES: Native to North America's open woodlands and prairies. Prefers well-drained, fertile soil. Can be divided but do it gently: Once established Coneflowers resent being moved. NOMENCLATURE NOTES: 'Echinacea' (Genus name from the Greek echinos: sea urchin or hedgehog, referring to the seed cone.) Gallon pot
