Berberis thunbergii 'Rose Glow' or Rosy Glow
Rosy Glow Barberry, also referred to as Rose Glow Berberis is best known for its unique foliage which opens up green, then turns a marbled pink and rose as it matures. Rosy Glow Barberry makes an attractive, low maintenance hedge, or use as an accent plant in a mixed garden planting. As with all Japanese Berberis, Rose Glow develops stunning fall foliage colors that vary from deep cherry-red to burnt-orange. Bracts of yellow flowers are borne in the spring, which then develop into clusters of tiny red berries.
Plant ‘Rose Glow’ in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it is drought tolerant in the garden. Trim in the fall for shape as needed. Outstanding deer resistance, this very hardy shrub is a wonderful landscape plant that will add texture and color to your garden. The attractive variegated foliage and small red berries are also useful when making holiday wreaths and arrangements.
