Red Hobbit Columbine is a wonderful perennial garden plant that ideal for the semi-shade garden. Reaching 18 inches to 24 inches, Red Hobbit Columbine is a Danish selection with showy red and white flowers. This stable hybrid comes true to color when reseeding in the garden, unlike many other hybrid varieties. As with all Aquilegia or Columbines, Red Hobbit prefers compost-enriched soil with regular irrigation and protection from the afternoon sun. Grown and shipped in a 1 gallon nursery trade container. CULTURAL NOTES: Columbines hybridize readily in the garden, so try planting individual colors at least 20 feet away from each other to preserve their individuality over the years. NOMENCLATURE NOTES: 'Aquilegia' ( "Eagle's claw", referring to the flower morphology)
